WHAT IS FENCE ROW CLEARING?
If you’ve got fenced property in Middle Georgia, you know how fast a fence row can get swallowed up. Vines, brush, and small trees move in fast, and once they take hold along a fence line, they become a real problem. They put pressure on the fence itself, make it hard to see or access the line, and can eventually cause structural damage if they’re left long enough.
Fence row clearing is the process of removing all of that overgrowth along the fence line to restore clean, open boundaries on your property. At Hitson Custom Works, we do this using our forestry mulcher, which lets us work close to the fence without damaging it while grinding everything else down to mulch.
HOW WE DO IT
We bring the forestry mulcher along the fence line and work through the brush and small trees that have grown in. The mulcher processes everything on the spot, so there’s nothing left to haul or burn. The fence itself stays intact, and you’re left with a clear, visible boundary along the full run.
For fence rows with particularly large trees or heavy growth that the mulcher can’t process alone, we can use the excavator to remove those first and then follow up with mulching to finish the job cleanly.

Will you damage the fence when you’re clearing the row?
We’re careful about this. Working close to the fence is something we do regularly, and we know how to operate the equipment without putting the fence at risk. If there are sections that need extra care or that are already in rough shape, we’ll point those out before we start.
How overgrown does the fence row have to be before you can help?
